ASRC Federal Advanced Research (AFAR) is seeking a Project Manager to join their team in supporting the US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) to identify and correct ground vehicle issues and participate in the future development of ground vehicle enhancements in a military laboratory setting. ASRC project managers will work hand in hand with government counterparts at the US Army Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI to aide in their mission to develop ground-based future combat systems, thereby transforming warfighter operations for many years. It is a unique opportunity to work on the multi-axle wheeled and tracked vehicles, that civilians might not otherwise have access to. Candidates with a manufacturing background tend to have an appropriate, methodical approach to problem solving and troubleshooting that lends itself well to the military environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support in organizing, managing, maintaining, distributing, archiving and synchronizing various data inputs generated from ongoing projects.
• Use data stored on LAN/WAN networks to track costs, create schedules, and report progress of projects through all phases of the Total Life Management Cycle from design inception to production and shipping.
• Utilize various data sources such as (SharePoint, Outlook, Windchill) to project manage and organize documents, technical data, and engineering data/drawings. The contractor shall provide GVSC’s project management leadership with current progress status of the projects. Contractor shall utilize accumulated archived data to forecast timeline schedules, costs and allocation of resources necessary to accomplish future projects.
• Deliver Meeting Minutes IAW CDRL A002, Funds and Man-hour Expenditure Report IAW A011, Contract Work Breakdown Structure IAW CDRL A012.
• Proficient in use of MS Project/ MS Excel, MS Outlook.
• Plan and create production schedules based on work order information and available resources.
• Ensure all timelines and material costs in the supply chain of manufacturing, procurement; production and sourcing are adhered to and proceed in an efficient manner.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the planning office, project management office, engineering office, and quality control team to determine production requirements for scheduling and maintaining flow in the production process.
• Responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned projects and for supporting new business development by Managing or assisting with proposals. Projects managed are typically of moderate technical complexity.
• The contractor shall be proficient in use of MS Project, MS Excel, MS Outlook and SharePoint.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in management, technical or science field desired or minimum of (6) seven years of experience in providing program management support of engineering programs in lieu of degree.
• Responsible for providing systems level requirements definition; product design, development and installation; development of and modifications to program documentation; quality assurance and quality control programs and procedures. Experience in management of engineering groups and shop personnel is desired.
• Knowledge of Government procurement and contracting rules and regulations is desired for the position.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Confidential security clearance.
