Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Reports to the Director of Research and Learning.
- Performs the following teaching activities:
- Teaches COAS Q110 - Introduction to Information Literacy.
- Provides instruction for Information Literacy tagged courses in selected areas.
- Conducts orientations/bibliographic instruction for High School classes.
- Performs the following Subject Librarian activities (Sustainability, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Radiological Sciences, Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology):
- Provides bibliographic instruction for courses and individuals as requested in subject areas.
- Selects and deaccession materials for library collection in subject areas.
- Maintains LibGuide webpages for subject areas.
- Performs the following reference services activities:
- Provides research consultations to students, faculty, staff, and community.
- Attends staff, subject librarian, instruction, and other meetings as scheduled.
- May be asked to coordinate and participate on projects and events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- Master degree of Library Science (MLS) from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Demonstrates experience in reference and instruction (preferably in an academic or specialized library)
Preferred
- Experience with health sciences librarianship or a science background
SKILLS
Required
- Proficient communication skills
Working Conditions / Demands
This position requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sendentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional Information
This position typically works for 38 weeks during the academic year (July 1 - June 30).

Advertised Salary
$22.00 per hour
Work Hours
20 hours per week, typically, though schedules are flexible.
Days of the week may also vary, but could include Monday - Saturday.
