If you're a mechanically inclined professional with proven field service experience and a drive to grow, SAMSON Controls has an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with 3-5 years of experience related to control valves or hands-on mechanical/field service work. This role directly supports our sales team, distributors, and end-users by providing technical support, field maintenance, and troubleshooting services. Based out of our Headquarters office in Baytown, TX, you'll play a key role in upholding customer satisfaction and maintaining strong client relationships.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, and testing of control valves and associated equipment both on-site and at SAMSON facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, including instrument calibration and diagnostics.
- Interpret repair documentation, technical drawings, and measurement tools to ensure quality service.
- Communicate with customers to provide technical support, determine repair scope, and recommend solutions.
- Accurately document all activities including failure analysis, parts used, labor hours, and corrective actions taken.
- Organize and prioritize work independently or in coordination with team members and contractors.
- Travel up to 75%, including overnight and international travel, to customer locations across North America.
- Must be available for occasional after-hours or weekend service callouts.
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments (lifting up to 50 lbs, confined spaces, elevated heights).
- Must pass a post-offer drug/alcohol screening and background check.
- Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook), and computer-based reporting and documentation tools.
- Familiarity with HART communicators or similar diagnostic tools (preferred).
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Instrumentation or similar field required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with control valves or
- 3-5 years of mechanically inclined field service work in industrial settings.
- Electrical & Instrumentation experience is a plus.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving record..
- TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) preferred or ability to obtain.
