SLIMS is a platform that enables tracking of all stages that samples in scientific laboratories follow through to the final result. SLIMS captures information about a sample, requests for measurements, and follows its entire workflow through the lab, supervising manual operating procedures, automated instrument steps, and calculations until the final report.
The focus of the SLIMS Core R&D team is on developing the fundamental modules of the SLIMS platform. The modules developed by the team are subsequently adapted and customized by application engineers to deliver software solutions that can be deployed at customer sites. As a Full-Stack Java Developer joining the SLIMS Core R&D team, your focus will both be on the front-end and back-end sides of SLIMS modules. SLIMS is presently modernizing through a hybrid of modern Angular-based front-ends, as well as evolution of its legacy stack developed in Java, SpringBoot and SmartGWT. You should therefore have competences in Java and preferably Angular development. Additionally, it is a valuable plus if you are also experienced in aspects of cyber-security relevant to this mix of technologies and underlying protocols.

This position is based in Ghent, Belgium with the flexibility to work on a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 days at home) after the on-boarding period.
