DESCRIPTION

Amazon Appstore is a fast-growing Organization and responsible for providing delightful customer experiences across Amazon devices (FireTV, Tablets) with a vast selection of relevant apps, games, and services. The Appstore team is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to build and enhance 3P Developer Analytics products. In this role, you will design and develop scalable, high performance analytics products that provide third-party developers with actionable insights. The role requires close collaboration with Data Engineers, Product Managers and BIEs to create intuitive, data-rich experiences that will help developers optimize their apps and businesses. Your expertise in backend development, data processing and API design will be key to ensuring the reporting solutions are efficient, reliable and easy to use.

Key job responsibilities

As a software engineer on this team, you will:

1. Help drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a world-class experience for Appstore 3P developers

2. Develop and maintain systems that process and surface insights in near real-time to support timely decision making

3. Cross-functional collaboration with Data Engineers, Product Managers and BIEs to enhance product capabilities and improve developer adoption.

4. Raise the bar on quality, conduct code reviews, and ensure robust engineering standards for the developer facing products

5. Utilize various metrics sources to deliver rapid iterations of software features

6. Be a champion for the user: Insist on the highest standards, create functional and engaging features, and ensure their needs always come first.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience in programming with at least one software programming language
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data processing frameworks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience building customer-facing analytics or reporting products
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Prior experience working with third-party developers, APIs and developer platforms
• Strong understanding of security and data privacy best practices.
