Vaco is hiring a JR Buyer

Location: Oakland Park, FL (fully onsite)

Schedule – 4 day work week, Monday-Thursday 6:30AM-5PM

Salary: $60-70k

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for various inventory planning and purchasing of materials; including cost reduction & inventory management, ensure quality of purchased products and improve supplier performance. Drive process improvement for efficiency and scalability through effective, professional, team collaboration

DELIVERABLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for accurate and efficient order processing for multiple facilities.
2. Review requisition, manage quotation process, and analyze impact to determine best value supplier
3. Enter P.O.’s and follow up to ensure quality and on time deliveries
4. Manage & resolve delivery, pricing, and/or quality issues in a timely manner
5. Communicate progress, potential risks, and plans to appropriate teams
6. Ensure data accuracy in Syspro (i.e. Due dates, MRP material item master data, etc.)
7. Support and assist other departments to ensure efficient flow of purchasing transactions throughout the company (i.e. R&D, shipping/receiving, IT, Accounting, etc.)
8. Manage Domestic and International Supplier Relationships
9. Research and evaluate suppliers based on quality, delivery, support, pricing and capabilities; while building and maintaining quality working relationships
10. Execute strategies and tactics to achieve best results regarding pricing, logistics, inventory, and payment terms
11. Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery; trace shipments and follow up on undelivered goods
12. Study market prices and trends, industry developments in purchasing, commodities, and/or supply chain
13. Develop/update and implement improved Suppler Sigma/Lean initiatives to improve process efficiencies and product quality, delivery, cost, etc.
14. Manage Inventory Targets and Customer Service Levels (based on historical demand)
15. Prioritize duties knowing where the biggest sense of urgency is required.
16. Manage inventory levels
17. Develop/update and implement improved Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) or pull systems, etc.
18. Analyze forecasted demand with historical demand
19. Produce and maintain all reports
20. Model company values and behaviors
21. Manage your individual performance, personal development, and training
22. Support company’s and team’s initiatives
23. Perform other duties according to business needs

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience & Skills)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field; or equivalent combination of education/training and/or experience.
• CSCP/CPIM Certified or equivalent (preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office products (e.g. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, etc…)
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP software required; ability to execute large volume of weekly SKUs while working material exceptions with a sense of urgency
• Negotiation experience
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good judgment in price negotiation and vendor selection, decisiveness, and excellent problem solving skills
• Strong analytical skills and good understanding of overall business objectives
• Inventory management and customer service level strategy development and tactical execution
• Understanding of domestic and international procurement activities; international supplier experience a plus
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills; ability to work with others in a professional manner
• Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
• Ability to handle changing priorities under tight deadlines
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, die casting, plastic injection molding, BOM, drawings, assembly, and stamping (preferred)
• Familiar with Lean & Demand Pull Planning concepts, practices, and procedures
• Occasional travel required
