An LA restaurant group is looking for an Assistant Controller to add to their team. In this newly created position, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing the audit, internal controls, overseeing the GL team, GAAP compliance, financial reporting, treasury, managing the P&L, and overseeing a complex payroll process. To be successful in this role, the Assistant Controller will need to be tech savvy, analytical, intelligent, and demonstrate business acumen. What do you need for this Assistant Controller role?

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 10 years of accounting experience, 5 years of people management experience
• CPA a plus
• MUST have industry experience
• Advanced Excel

What will you do in this Assistant Controller role?

• Analyze and prepare financial statements
• Financial and management reporting
• Manage the month-end close process
• Conduct variance analysis and review budget vs actuals
• Create internal controls
• Manage the internal audit
• Identify process improvement initiatives
• Lead cash flow and liquidity processes, and cash flow forecasting
• Manage bank relationships
• Maintain tax compliance
• Work with external tax CPAs to file returns
