Job Description:
I. Position Summary:
Perform a variety of diversified carpentry duties primarily in the areas of rough and finish carpentry, demolition, cabinetwork and Formica application. Collaborate with engineering personnel to solicit expertise of required crafts necessary to complete assigned projects. Serve as a consultant to facility personnel in recommending specific finished carpentry goods to attain desired goals. Requisition relevant carpentry supplies and tools. Direct Engineering personnel assigned to assist in carpentry project completion.
II. Position Responsibilities:
- Work from written and electronic requisitions, or verbal instructions
- Prioritize urgency of work requests with Director of Engineering or Supervisor
- Design and lay-out counters, shelves, and cabinets for the approval of Director or designee as assigned by Director or Supervisor
- Lay out walls, doors and windows from sketches or drawings
- Install carpentry products.
- Plan and make temporary installations of scaffolding, platforms, partitions and temporary barriers for Infection Control purposes
- Install hardware and locks as assigned
- Operate a variety of power and hand tools
- Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
- Follow standard and prescribed safety regulations
- Respond to all facility emergency codes that apply to Engineering
- Attend facility sponsored training, fire safety, Basics Training
- Must be available for snow removal as needed
- Maintain professional appearance at all times
- Subject to being called in for emergencies
- Participate in scheduled department meetings
- Perform any duty as assigned by Director or Supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness of household
- Responds to call bells and patient requests
- Reports any equipment found to be unsafe or broken immediately to supervisor
- Puts Customer Service first: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a safe, caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all patient related information (HIPPA)

High School Diploma or equivalent
Three years recent experience in trade
- Licensure/Board Certification
None
V Physical Requirements (ADA Requirements)
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing or walking.
Lifting pushing, pulling supplies and equipment.
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
May need to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
