What We Are Looking For
The Senior Associate Vice President (SAVP) provides leadership of the university's development program, including management of fundraising professionals of all college, school and programs including the centrally organized fundraising programs of foundation relations, parent and family giving, planned giving and principal gifts, to increase and improve philanthropic outcomes in support of the university's strategic goals.
An Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience are required. A Master's degree and 10+ years of experience is preferred. This position is based in Waco, TX but will require travel.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Focus on growing annual fundraising outcomes by approximately 25% to $200+ million by 2030.
- Lead the annual fundraising goal-setting process in collaboration with divisional and university leadership.
- Establish performance and promotions standards for gift officers.
- Collaborate with divisional colleagues to ensure alignment between advancement's development function and its engagement function, including annual giving.
- Serve as the campaign co-director in partnership with the Associate Vice President for engagement. The incumbent's primary campaign focus will be developing the fundraising strategy for the university in its next comprehensive campaign.
- Assist in building a foundation for substantive and enduring growth in private philanthropy both among the Baylor family and those not currently engaged with Baylor but whose philanthropic interests align with the university's Christian mission.
- The Sr. Associate Vice President will work with members of the president's council, university council, and volunteers, including members of the Baylor Board of Regents, to establish and fulfill fundraising priorities that accomplish the university's strategic plan, Baylor In Deeds.
- Assist in building a greater awareness of the importance and diversity of private philanthropy and its stewardship among campus constituencies and external partners.
- As a member of the division's executive team and leadership team, the SAVP will work with divisional colleagues to position the university as an industry leader in advancement and fulfill the goals, objectives and strategies found in the division's 2025-2030 strategic plan.
- Develop and maintain a select group of principal gift prospects to cultivate, solicit and steward. Assume additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
- Ability to comply with University policies.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
