Description

The Analyst, Supply-OE will oversee supply performance for items procured from overseas and domestic suppliers, to meet department purchase, fill rate, back order line, PO aging, and inventory (MOS) objectives. Planning and control of these parts requires timely and accurate forecast preparation, ordering, and expediting techniques, in addition to customer service consideration. These responsibilities have a direct impact on MPA expenses (freight, warehousing) and income (parts sales), and therefore have an impact company profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecast and order assigned parts to meet corporate fill rate and inventory (MOS) objectives. (30%)
  • Expedite vendor purchase orders to minimize critical inventory and dealer back order situations. Review daily dealer backorder report, and take appropriate action to resolve, including XVOR/UPER orders to minimize risk of buy back. (25%)
  • Coordinate, oversee and place initial orders for new model parts as required to ensure parts availability at time of vehicle wholesale. (20%)
  • Train and support Analyst, Parts Supply to help meet department objectives. (15%)
  • Miscellaneous maintenance of part master and purchase order data. (10%)

Key Performance Indicators

  • Review and maintain all assigned parts to meet objectives for fill rate and inventory levels.
  • Prepare purchase orders for assigned parts on a regular basis, including weekly air and sea orders, urgent air (VOR/XVOR) orders, initial/new model parts orders and other special orders, as required to support customer needs
  • and MOBIS purchase targets.
  • Monitor dealer backorders continuously, and communicate/expedite with suppliers on delivery in order to achieve highest customer service and fill rate.
  • Maintain purchase order files to ensure accuracy; reconcile with suppliers on a regular basis.
  • Analyze, review and place initial orders for new model vehicles. Maintain pipeline for sufficient supply during first 12-18 months of vehicle production. Ensure 98% fill rates to support OEMs objectives.
  • Review and recommend changes to the Part Master to ensure that correct supply levels, supersession codes, and parts control codes are maintained and accurate.
  • Take an active role in identifying and recommending modifications to the Parts System to aid in inventory planning and to improve customer service. Participate in the design, testing and implementation of short and long term
  • computer system enhancements.
  • Support any ad-hoc requests for analysis, information, or additional tasks.

Work Schedule & Travel Requirements

  • Monday through Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.

Required Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • 2-4 years of demonstrated experience in quantitative analysis, financial/accounting concepts, and business strategy development.
  • Thorough computer application knowledge, including familiarity with database concepts and ad-hoc reporting tools.
  • Experience with inventory planning required
  • Automotive experience preferred but not required.

Certifications

  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) or other supply chain related certifications or affiliations are a plus.

Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills (Reports and Timelines).
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to changing circumstances.
  • Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Access or other SQL preferred.

Employment Type - Non-Exempt

Compensation - Hourly Wage , $54,363.95 - 80,186.83
