The McLeod Innovation Center

The McLeod Innovation Center is at the forefront of educational and technological advancement, providing an environment that fosters creativity, learning, and innovation. Our mission is to equip students and educators with cutting-edge resources and skills, enabling them to explore, create, and innovate.

Basic Function: The Innovation Teacher and Educational Technology Integrator serves a dual role at the McLeod Innovation Center. This staff member will teach 2–3 innovation-related courses while also overseeing digital fabrication equipment, supporting instructional technology, and collaborating on programming and events. The ideal candidate brings creativity, technical skill, and a passion for supporting both students and teachers in hands-on, future-facing learning experiences.

Essential Functions for the Innovation Teacher and Educational Technology Integrator:

  • Teaching:
  • Teach 2–3 courses related to innovation, design, fabrication, or educational technology. Moderate student clubs or extracurriculars as needed.
  • Fabrication Lab Management:
  • Oversee the safe and effective use of tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and other makerspace equipment. Ensure smooth operation, workflow, and project support.
  • Educational Technology Integration:
  • Prepare and support use of educational technology (e.g., VR headsets, podcasting equipment, broadcasting tools) for teachers and students. Ensure tools are ready and available for scheduled sessions.
  • Training & Support:
  • Provide hands-on training and support to teachers and students using digital fabrication tools and educational technologies. Empower faculty to integrate innovative tools into their teaching.
  • Instructional Resource Development:
  • Develop instructional guides and training materials to standardize and support the use of tools and technologies in the Innovation Center.
  • Program & Event Support:
  • Assist with planning, setup, and takedown for Innovation Department events, interdisciplinary projects, and school-wide programs.
  • Lab Supervision:
  • Contribute to the daily supervision and upkeep of the McLeod Innovation Center, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and creative environment.

Education & Technical Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a STEAM-related field preferred (candidates actively pursuing a degree will be considered).
  • Experience in high school education, preferably in a Jesuit or mission-driven environment.
  • Background in engineering, design, CAD, computer science, media production, or other STEAM areas is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with educational and creative technologies (e.g., CANVA, TinkerCAD, micro:bit, podcasting, VR).

  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Proactive, innovative, and flexible in problem-solving and project execution.
  • An understanding of or openness to Jesuit values and educational philosophy.
