Role Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Issue Management Process Engineer to develop and implement robust issue management workflows across our software and hardware development teams. In this critical role, you will be responsible for streamlining the ingestion, tracking, and resolution of issues from various brands, ensuring seamless data exchange and collaboration. Your expertise in verification and validation will be instrumental in understanding the root causes of issues and driving effective solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of Jira and a passion for improving product quality within the dynamic electric vehicle industry.

Responsibilities

  • Issue Management Workflow Development:
    • Design and implement comprehensive issue management workflows for both software and hardware domains.
    • Establish standardized processes for issue logging, tracking, prioritization, and resolution.
    • Develop and maintain clear documentation for issue management procedures.
    • Work with other brands within the company to ensure a common issue tracking process.
  • Data Exchange and Integration:
    • Develop and maintain seamless data exchange processes for issue information between internal teams and external brands.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the issue management lifecycle.
    • Collaborate with data analysts and systems administrators to optimize data flow and reporting.
  • Verification and Validation Support:
    • Leverage verification and validation expertise to analyze issue root causes and develop effective solutions.
    • Work closely with testing and quality assurance teams to ensure issues are thoroughly investigated and resolved.
    • Contribute to the development of test plans and validation procedures to prevent recurring issues.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration to ensure timely issue resolution.
    • Provide regular status updates and reports on issue management activities.
    • Lead issue review meetings and workshops.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems)
  • Proven experience in issue management and workflow development.
  • Strong understanding of verification and validation principles and practices.
  • Experience with Jira is a must.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality standards and processes.
  • Experience with issue tracking systems.
  • Experience working with different brands and companies to form a common data exchange.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California-Based Applicants: 98,500 to 123,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
