As a Senior Platform Engineer at SkipTheDishes, you will collaborate with teams of developers to build scalable systems and solve issues using various tools in a (mostly) AWS environment that spans the globe. You will be responsible for ensuring our services and products seamlessly move from development through rollout and into production. We focus on product functionality and scaling services or introducing new services; mitigating risks and making sure systems are reliable.

• Using standard methodologies to improve products/services or processes.
• Working with other teams to deprecate old services.
• Improving the team’s operating standards and practices.
• Day-to-day technical leadership - no people management.
• Training new hires, mentoring junior engineers and sharing technical knowledge with others.

What will you bring to the table?

• Proven experience building scalable systems and handling large datasets.
• Skilled in resolving various back-end challenges under pressure.
• Capable of delivering solutions for platform scaling, performance, failover, and optimization.
• Experienced with AWS cloud services (Lambda, EC2/ECS, Fargate, API Gateway, RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, Redis).
• Proficient in system logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Experienced in managing and securing cloud networking (VPCs, transit gateways, security groups, firewalls, DNS).
• Familiar with IaC/Data technologies (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Helm), asynchronous communication (SNS/SQS, RabbitMQ, Kinesis, Kafka), CI/CD methodologies, and bonus for Java, Python, NodeJS.
