BASIC FUNCTION

A Senior Project Engineer in this role is a key technical contributor who will lead and communicate global product certification and compliance requirements, along with supporting innovative product development in the test laboratory. Rehlko generators help keep people alive and healthy, keep lines of communication open, keep critical data secure, and support many other essential functions across the world.

A Senior Project Engineer in this role will:

  • Provide technical support to the business through expertise of global standards and regulations related to Rehlko products
  • Lead activities with Product Development teams to prepare, implement, and maintain certification strategies for global products
  • Provide oversight and operational support to Engineering Development Test Lab
  • Develop and improve tools and processes to optimize and drive for continuous improvement

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering and Marketing on New Product Development as a resource for applicable product regulations and testing requirements
  • Review and evaluate proposed changes to existing products for risks to certifications and compliance with local and global requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical files and documentation to support local and global access to markets for product performance, safety, environmental, and chemical regulations such as CCC, CCS, CE, and RoHS
  • Support exhaust emissions certification activities for Rehlko business units with VECC, EPA, and other global agencies
  • Work with Test Labs Globally to harmonize test processes, strategy, and equipment
  • Ensure established laboratory protocols are maintained regarding test processes / procedures, records, documentation, calibrations, and data storage
  • Review and approve test plans and test reports to ensure Engineering receives accurate information to support Product Development and Validation
  • Provide clear and concise feedback and information relating to engineering standard and regulation changes in a timely manner to key business decision makers
  • Coordinate audits by third-party agencies required to achieve and maintain product listings and certifications
  • Collaborate with Rehlko Corporate Compliance team on global topics and alignment with best practices across the businesses
  • Participate as a member of standards organizations, agency technical committees, and industry associations to represent Rehlko and keep current on global certification trends
  • Provide standards and regulations training to Design Engineering, Marketing, and other departments as needed

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:

Reports to Sr. Manager – Global Compliance & Sustainability, Power Systems

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related Engineering field is required
  • Four or more years of related work experience, such as product development, manufacturing, or quality systems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, with both verbal and written skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with global product certification, regulations, standards, and test procedures is preferred
  • Experience working collaboratively within global cross-functional teams is preferred
