REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Directly responsible to the Title III Project Director and the Director of Career, Advising, & Counseling Services.

Position Description & Details

  • Assist academic advisors in scheduling and conducting advising sessions with new students.
  • Provide support in preparation for and during student registration events for new, returning, and transfer students.
  • Provider information and guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and academic policies.
  • Help new students understand and utilize college resources, such as tutoring services, libraries, and online platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of advising sessions and student interactions.
  • Respond to student inquiries via email, phone, and in person.

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Bismarck State College
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Familiarity with Campus Connection
  • Previous experience in a customer service or advising role is preferred
