Your Job

To strengthen our team at Guardian Flachglas GmbH in Thalheim, we are looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer (m/f/d) in permanent employment as soon as possible.

Your Tasks

  • To promote, use and further develop our culture of principled management.
  • Create and implement environmental, health and safety policies and programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop EHS capabilities at the plant by building effective working relationships with operational teams.
  • Creating an environment where all employees work together, understand and exercise their decision-making powers, and contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement in the areas of environment, health and safety.
  • Develop and align EHS programs and strategies for the plant against operational goals and projects.
  • Ensure the cost-effective implementation of strategic EHS goals to ensure maximum safety for all employees and implement environmental projects.
  • Support with internal and external EHS audits.
  • Lead the investigation and reporting of EHS incidents to develop systems and employee skills to prevent future incidents.
  • Coordinate with operational teams to ensure contractors adhere to our safety vision and adhere to EHS standards.
  • Regular reporting, consulting and coaching of the plant management team on all EHS-relevant topics to ensure the competitiveness of the company.
  • Developing, improving, and implementing EHS training systems to meet the needs of the plant.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's/ Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related subject such as environmental engineering, safety engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of work experience in an EHS position, ideally in industrial or production environments, with demonstrable success in managing safety and environmental programs.
  • Good understanding of ISO frameworks as well as strong analytical skills for risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information to different audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of prioritizing multiple tasks in dynamic environments.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Proactive attitude to safety and a commitment to continuous professional development. Experience in leading and developing EHS initiatives and programs.
  • Excellent communicator in German and English
