Team / Division

DWS Group Tax manages the Group’s tax affairs through two functions, Tax Reporting & Compliance and Tax Advisory Services. DWS Tax acts within the overall Group strategy, including the maximization of shareholder value, and in compliance with relevant laws, disclosure requirements and regulations while protecting DWS’ reputation and brand.

Role Overview

As a Tax Manager you will play a critical role within DWS Group Tax by overseeing and managing robust governance processes related to FATCA & CRS compliance. Moreover, you will support DWS Group Tax in managing German Value Added Tax (“VAT”) and Withholding Tax (“WHT”) filing processes and play a vital role in overseeing the global Tax Service Model. A critical part of the role includes data analysis and stakeholder support – specifically the preparation, interpretation, and presentation of complex tax data to internal stakeholders to support decision-making and ensure transparency.

Your responsibilities

As our Tax Manager, you are responsible for:

FATCA & CRS

  • Manage comprehensive governance frameworks to ensure compliance with FATCA and CRS regulations
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of all reporting entities
  • Serve as primary point of contact for FATCA-related inquiries
  • Oversee registration and deregistration processes
  • Execute FATCA attestation procedures efficiently and accurately

Tax Reporting & Global Oversight

  • Coordinate monthly and annual Value Added Tax filing processes of German VAT group
  • Coordinate quarterly Withholding Tax filings in Germany
  • Substantiate tax balance sheet items.
  • Monitor global tax budget with external service providers

Data analysis & Stakeholder Support

  • Analyze and prepare tax-relevant data from accounting systems
  • Translate complex tax data into clear and actionable insights
  • Present tax data, reporting results, and compliance status to internal stakeholders and management

Your qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who has / is:

  • Proven experience in a CFO/Finance function within an International Asset Management or Banking Group
  • Degree in Business Administration, Tax Law, Accounting or related field
  • Experience in Finance & Taxation, ideally FATCA/CRS and indirect taxes
  • Knowledge of EU VAT regulations ideally in the financial industry
  • Strong data analysis, processing, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP
  • Structured analytical and independent working style
  • Amenable to midshift schedule – 2pm to 11pm
