The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences (ENS) in the School of Public Health and Health Professions (SPHHP) is seeking a Graduate Program Staff Assistant. This position will provide support to faculty and students by working closely with the graduate program and clinical directors as well as other administrative staff. The Staff Assistant should be a self-directed professional who serves as a strategic partner to the program and clinical directors by performing responsibilities aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of the directors and the operations of the programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document management including collecting documents from students to establish eligibility for clinical assignment as well as organizing and submitting paperwork for accreditation, program activities, and events.
  • Process and maintain affiliation agreements for student clinical placements.
  • Assist with student enrollment processes including transcript review and ensuring that all requirements are met including domestic and international student paperwork requirements.
  • Coordinate virtual webinars and in-person open houses to deliver more information about the programs and answer any questions that prospective students may have.
  • Track, analyze and report student and program data to support accreditation, evaluation and planning.
  • Work closely with other department administrators to coordinate day-to-day tasks and larger projects such as financial planning and cross-program events.
  • Develop and manage social media and marketing strategies to promote the program, enhance recruitment efforts and engage alumni/prospective students.
  • Work with the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies to review applications and schedule interviews for prospective students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree with 2 years of experience or bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated general skills required include being adaptable, organized, proactive, having excellent judgment, quantitative ability.
  • Strong technology skills including effective utilization of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and efficient file sharing techniques.
  • Skills in spreadsheet development, communication (listening, written, and oral), customer service, problem-solving, and effectively performing as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with experience in a similar professional role providing administrative or educational support in an academic or similar institution.
  • Strong administrative and communication skills; excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Advanced computer skills for word processing and data management; experience with university business systems (HUB and SLATE) is preferred.

Physical Demands Salary Range $50,000 - $56,000 Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
