Duties/Responsibilities

Conducting cutting-edge research and preparing educational/training materials and other resources for stakeholders in the digital technologies and other cutting edge tools, such as life cycle assessment applied to sustainable agriculture.

Percentage of time 40

Organizing and preparing research activities, analyzing research results and disseminating research outcomes within the timeline/due dates.

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

Applications are being accepted for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position with the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia. Candidates with a Ph.D. in agricultural, bio, food, chemical or other engineering/agricultural sciences or related disciplines and who have experiences in digital agricultural technologies including robotics, machine learning tools, modeling and simulation, precision agriculture, sustainable and circular agricultural systems are encouraged to apply.

This position will provide excellent opportunities for the candidate to work with an interdisciplinary team of researchers and other industry stakeholders, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and build strong professional skills. The candidate with exceptional publication records, strong motivation to develop and disseminate digital technologies with diverse-range of stakeholders and agricultualists, and strong project management skills are preferred.

The initial appointment is full-time for one year, and the possibility of renewal is subject to project needs, satisfactory performance in year 1, and continued funding.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

  • A Ph.D. in Agricultural, food, biological, chemical, or other engineering/science disciplines.
  • Highly motivated candidates with strong publication records and research experiences in digital agriculture, precision technologies, techno-economic analysis (TEA), life cycle assessment (LCA) tools applied to circular food and agricultural systems, and extension/workforce training experiences in digital agriculture systems.
  • Strong project management skills, a strong team player, and highly motivated to working with agriculturalists and other external stakeholders are preferred.
