Staff Bioinformatics Scientist

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Multiomics Bioinformatics organization and will support the development of Illumina’s portfolio of multiomic assays, library preps, and associated software.

The Role
The Multiomics Bioinformatics organization supports products spanning epigenetics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
As the Staff Scientist you will be responsible for prototyping novel algorithms, overseeing the transition of proposed methods to production software, and proposing novel research directions to improve the performance of Illumina's multiomics products.
In addition to strong bioinformatics and programming skills, this position requires a high degree of initiative and cross-functional collaboration, as well as a thorough understanding of the product development process.

Masters/PhD in bioinformatics, computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent experience
