The Department of Community and Regional Planning (CRP) in the College of Design at Iowa State University (ISU) invites applications for the position of Assistant Teaching Professor. The appointment for this position is anticipated to begin August 16, 2025, and the initial length of the appointment will be one academic year until May 15, 2026, with the possibility of renewal.
The department currently has a need for a candidate who can contribute by teaching an urban planning studio, as well as a world cities/globalization/International development class. The preferred candidate would also be able to contribute to teaching in one or more of the following areas:
The successful candidate will contribute to the missions of the Department and College by teaching core planning courses and electives at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate should be able to develop a studio course that works with a local or regional jurisdiction, teach a variety of courses, and contribute to existing courses in the on-campus accredited planning programs (BSCRP)(MCRP). Candidates should have strong communication skills and experience working with a range of communities and share our commitment to enhancing excellence and supporting the mission of the department, college, and university.
