The School of Education, Counseling, and Human Development (SECHD) invites applications for this important leadership role in the Counseling and Human Resource Development program (Brookings and Rapid City campuses). The incoming faculty member will lead and coordinate the program reporting directly to the School Director, Dr. Anne Karabon. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track, benefits eligible position. The expected start of June 2025.
The Assistant Director will coordinate the counseling program, serve as the CACREP liaison and ensure the maintenance of CACREP and state standards. The Assistant Director will actively engage with all stakeholders, including the students, staff, faculty, and stakeholders at both campus locations, teach graduate students, and be responsible for responding to inquiries regarding the overall academic unit while maintaining an active research/scholarship agenda.
Key administrative and leadership responsibilities for this position are to cultivate a climate of excellence and collegiality across the program, provide input and make recommendations regarding continuous improvement, assist with identifying and securing adjunct faculty, review program faculty workloads and budgetary considerations, oversee the admissions process, and other duties as assigned to the position.
This position requires in-person teaching in Brookings, South Dakota.

Key Responsibilities:
SALARY RANGE:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, minimum salary starting at $100,000. Release time will be allocated to serve as the Program Coordinator for the Counseling and Human Resource Development academic unit. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university’s guidelines.
