Job Summary
The Lead Epic Application Analyst is responsible for advancing the functionality and operational efficiency of Information Systems utilizing their expertise in Epic Applications. This entails providing advanced technical support as well as leadership and direction to other Analysts in the analysis, design, configuration and implementation. This position is responsible for ensuring integration of technology into effective workflow and process design as well as ensuring operational efficiency of assigned Epic applications and integrated technology. Provides advanced ongoing analysis, consultation, complex problem-solving, collaboration and application support to users. The Lead Epic Application Analyst utilizes their advanced knowledge and skills to function as a technical resource on Epic, provide leadership, direction and guidance on projects and train users and other Analysts. Supports the implementation of complex system solutions and may have team lead responsibilities. This position typically reports to an ISD manager or above.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associates degree, preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Epic Certification required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in a large, corporate systems development and implementation activities in a wide variety of Healthcare Information Systems (MIS) or similar experience in system analysis, design, building, testing and implementation or a combination of MIS and working knowledge of hospital operations required
- Industry training and increasingly responsible experience with knowledge and skills in a large, complex corporate Information System
- Previous Epic or other Health Information Systems experience required
- Experience in leading projects and supporting highly complex problems
- Demonstrated experience in leading other Analysts
- Advanced knowledge of Epic application support, development tools and methodologies
- Demonstrated record of bringing tasks and projects to successful conclusion
- Good analytical skills and technical aptitude
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Good communication, collaboration and customer service skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Principal Accountabilities
Leadership
- Serves as an informal Leader on the team.

Systems Development
- Translates user and department Epic systems needs into technical solutions.
- Identifies application development opportunities that can be implemented to enhance user productivity and service levels.
Technical Administration
- Accountable for leading and providing advanced technical knowledge in the support of Epic as well as other software applications and operating systems.
- Performs advanced analysis, design, building, testing and implementation of Epic and other computer programs and systems.
- Demonstrates and apply information systems theory, processes and methodologies.
Technical Standards
- Acts as an advocate for setting and enforcing technical development, application support and information management standards within and outside of the Information Systems Department.
Application Suppor
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and techniques in supporting Analysts in development projects and complex problem solving efforts invovling Epic and other applications.
- Participates in after-hours application support by rotating call schedule on a regular basis.
- Provides ongoing Epic support to users.
Planning & Coordinating
- Develops, prioritizes and executes projects according to established schedules and timeframes.
- Maintains an effective level of coordination on all assigned projects.
- Documents and reports on all plans, priorities and schedules.
- Informs Manager of status of all project assignments regularly.
- Leads projects as assigned.
Training
- Partners with Principal Trainers in the preparation, delivery and evaluation of training sessions for staff.
- Monitors effectiveness of training and support the modification content material, as necessary.
Customer Service
- Provides effective customer service by being courteous, polite and friendly toward others at all times.
- Acknowledges customers immediately in order to determine need and help the customer resolve issue or request.
Other
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
