Purpose of position

The Tutor is responsible for delivering high-quality training programs, conducting assessment (if required) of International Standards, and providing expert guidance to clients. This includes public training courses and in-house training solutions to the BSI standards of excellence. Tutor plays a vital role in upholding training excellence, supporting organizational goals, and fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Key responsibilities and activities

  • Deliver BSI training courses in a manner that ensures that value is added to customers and their business/organisation.
  • Inform and update customers of BSI services to ensure their needs are met during training sessions.
  • Provide delegates with information on how the training is aligned to the overall customer journey with BSI to raise customer awareness.
  • Deliver excellent training courses/solutions and day-to-day interactions with customers and other key stakeholders to continually enhance the reputation and perception of BSI.
  • Provide feedback to support course development in line with the new course and existing product development process.
  • Provide assistance with the design of training solutions (e.g. classroom, electronic, correspondence, mentoring, coaching) to improve the quality and range of the training offered.
  • Maintain and enhance appropriate professional qualification status in relevant disciplines to keep up to date in own area of expertise.
  • Proactively engage with peers and key stakeholders to ensure continual improvement, in line with the BSI standards of excellence for training delivery.
  • Provide technical support to the training sales and marketing teams in order to enhance the growth of training business.
  • If required, undertake the assessment of clients in accordance with BSI requirements, including preparing assessment reports outlining the findings of the assessment to ensure client understanding of the assessment decision and clear direction to particular items of corrective action where appropriate.
  • Other responsibilities as specified from time to time.

Qualification & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of full-time practical experience in information technology, with at least 5 years focused on information security.
  • Where appropriate, a qualified internal or lead auditor in these disciplines.
  • Or Experience in ISMS consulting, including gap analysis, implementation, and audit preparation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in ISO 27001 (ISMS) and other related standards (ISO 27701, ISO 27017, ISO 27018, and PCIDSS).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer) are a plus.
