Who You’ll Work With

We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Emergency Management Project Manager to join our Florida team based in Tallahassee, FL. This unique hybrid role bridges emergency management and business operations, supporting clients in planning, preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters – while also playing a critical role in coordinating the operational lifecycle across active client engagements to ensure smooth delivery and organizational efficiency. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, serving as both a strategic leader and a tactical operator. Your adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to manage ambiguity will directly support community resilience, continuity of operations, and successful project outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Emergency Management & Project Leadership:

  • Oversee a wide range of emergency management business and technology projects, ensuring coordination of shared resources, common activities, and other dependencies across all projects.
  • Serve as Activation Lead on-site with client during emergencies, manage rapid mobilization efforts and coordinate resources, schedules, and dependencies across initiatives focused on disaster planning, training, and response.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, driving communication around status updates, issue resolution, and risk management.
  • Support the development of internal processes, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Business Operations & Engagement Support:

  • Coordinate operational processes for multiple engagements, including contract management support, engagement setup, change orders, and billing reconciliation.
  • Liaise with client-side procurement and accounts payable teams to ensure seamless service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Support time entry corrections, revenue adjustments, and financial reporting activities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in engagement operations, financial tracking, and reporting.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for operational questions, systems issues, or troubleshooting across internal and client-facing teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7-10 years of project management and emergency management experience, ideally with the government sector or consulting background.
  • Familiarity with public sector processes or prior work with government agencies, emergency operations centers (EOCs), or public safety clients.
  • 1–3 years of business operations or engagement management experience in a professional services environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with executive presence.
  • Solid understanding of contract management, billing systems, time entry processes, and financial oversight.
  • A proactive mindset to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and improve business and operational performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional preferred requirements

  • Experience in Agile project environments and digital transformation initiatives. Preferred Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • In-depth knowledge of the emergency management lifecycle: mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, Power BI, and other CRM or ERP systems.
