Responsible for developing, optimizing, and ensuring the efficient manufacturing of Busbars, guaranteeing compliance with safety and- quality standards, cost and production timelines.

Focused on implementing detailed process improvements, material selection, specialized machinery management, and technical problem-solving. Collaborates with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure the reliability and performance of manufactured products.

Our Team

  • Responsible for the implementation, optimization, and supervision of Busbar manufacturing processes, ensuring production meets technical specifications, regulations, quality standards, timelines, and costs.
  • Leads initiatives for process optimization and waste reduction by introducing new technologies, materials, and strategies to enhance competitiveness. Collaborates with quality, maintenance, procurement, and production teams to ensure the technical and operational feasibility of the product.
  • Define process parameters and specifications for Busbar manufacturing.
  • Recommend improvements and innovations in materials, machinery, and production methods.
  • Halt or modify processes in case of critical deviations affecting quality or safety.

What you will do

  • Define a robust and cost-effective process flow with accurate manufacturing costs for all design requests related to busbar manufacturing.
  • Conduct effective busbar manufacturing feasibility studies along with PD, NPI and Production team as per the criteria.
  • Trouble shooting issues in scientific approach with the use engineering tools, scientific approach, Tolerance Analysis, SPC, DOE and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Take the leading role in driving the process design, improvement of productivity and quality of busbar manufacturing.
  • Participate in Design Reviews and conduct thorough Design for Manufacturability to mitigate all the design related concerns and PFMEA reviews of all the Assembly parts and address all the potential failures, suggest/ implement the corrective actions.
  • Participate in Assembly development by coordinating with internal development team, Derive the tooling requirement including controls, Poka-Yoke and cycle time and communicate effectively to internal Tooling development team 
  • Make and update Project plan for each part numbers and review with team frequently, Obtain management support whenever the Project timelines are critical or the relevant department's support is not sufficient
  • Ensure new product development process meets PDP process requirement for each stages, drive corrective actions and preventive actions for all Assembly process related concerns, Interaction with the various engineering centers of Molex for getting necessary information required for developing the product/process.
  • Understand, support and contribute to current MBM Philosophy, Six Sigma, EICC, ISO, IAFT and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or similar; preferred Master’s degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Cable assembly process
  • English Professional Proficiency

What will put you ahead

  • Knowledge of NPI and DFMEA processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC/620 standards for harnesses and IPC/610 standards for soldering and assemblies
  • Solid understanding in machines and tooling needs for cable and harness construction.
  • Knowledge of practices, terminology, and tolerances associated with cable fabrication.
  • Knowledge of molding process will be an additional advantage.
  • Robotics, automation, will be an additional advantage
