Distribution Customer Service Representative

Spherion Staffing has a full time opening for a Customer Service Representative. The Distribution Customer Service Representative carries out all customer service activities such as responding to inquiries, processing orders, receipts and handling complaints in a prompt, courteous and effective manner. Other responsibilities include answering/routing telephone calls, greeting visitors, scheduling and other clerical duties as directed by the Customer Service Supervisor or Office Manager.

Initial Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm / 3:30pm-12:00am; all training regardless of shift will be Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Normal hours of operation:

1st shift: Monday-Thursday, 6am-4:30pm

2nd shift: Monday-Thursday, 4:30pm-3am

Weekend: Fri-Sun, 6am-6pm

Pay: $22-23.50 depending on shift

Responsibilities:

  • Interact in a good working relationship with customers by responding to all inquiries and complaints concerning work orders, invoices, shipments, inventory counts, etc. in a courteous and effective manner
  • Process and input all customer orders
  • Produce stock reports to check for product availability
  • Produce all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer work orders
  • Coordinate special and last minute shipping requests with the Traffic and Operations Departments, expediting any order as necessary
  • Provide follow up with other departments to ensure service standards are being met
  • Assure proper invoicing of accounts by verifying computer generated invoices
  • Prepare shipping and tracing information to customers as required
  • Maintain damage records and back order logs
  • Communicate customer feedback to management including any signs of dissatisfaction
  • Act as a liaison between the warehouse and the customer in administration of the accounts and between the office and customers regarding invoicing and credit changes
  • Oversee all paperwork associated with orders and maintain the corresponding files
  • Maintain current and accurate procedure manual, which details the processing requirements for each account

Working hours: Various Shifts Available

Skills:

  • Experience with (Manhattan/SAP/Blue Yonder/Red Prairie) Warehouse Management System preferred
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred
  • MHE experience or desire to learn MHE

Education:

High School

Experience:

1-4 years

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint)-Basic typing skills
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
  • Good visual acuity to inspect shipments
  • Ability to input data on the computer to create a daily inventory report
  • Accuracy in recordkeeping and in sorting, checking, counting, and verifying items received
  • Strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking, planning and self-motivation skills
  • Proficiency in reading and responding to customer emails in a timely fashion, as well as answering the phone
  • Coachable and able to receive constructive feedback
  • Must present a high level of professionalism
  • Experience working in a warehouse shipping and receiving window
  • Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed by the customer
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
  • Must be able to lift and move totes up to 50-100 pounds
