Job Function:
The Department of Pathology at Wayne State University School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position. We seek an outstanding scientist with a research focus on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of human diseases. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities, including genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and advanced imaging.
Essential Functions:
Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program.
Conduct high-impact research on the molecular basis of diseases, such as cancer, metabolic disorders, or inflammation.
Engage in collaborative research within the department and across the university.
Contribute to the department's teaching mission by mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Participate in departmental service and outreach activities.
Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in Pathology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.
Strong publication record in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals.
Demonstrated potential for securing extramural research funding.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student body.
Rank must commensurate with credentials.
