Job Description:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for conducting machine setups, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, refrigeration and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines and facility systems.
- Read and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
- Building Maintenance
- Knowledge of construction, electrical, and mechanical Maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read blueprints and micrometers.
- Must know proper use of hand and power tools, to include multimeter.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on ladders and aerial platforms up to 50 feet.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment required within the last 2 years.
- Advanced Manufacturing Industrial Maintenance degree preferred.
- Must pass mechanical aptitude test.
- This position will be required to work shutdown and may be required to work holidays. Frequent short notice overtime, may include weekends, is also required.
- Must furnish own basic hand tools.
