Your contribution!

Reporting functionally to the High Voltage Manager, you will be a part of Innergex’s US Operations department and will support operation and maintenance of the High Voltage Balance of Plant equipment at various operating wind, solar, hydroelectric, and battery storage projects across the US.

Your day-to-day!

  • Support all operations and maintenance activities for Balance of Plant (BoP) assets;
  • Ensure that BOP maintenance is conducted in accordance with NERC and industry standards;
  • Perform switching and grounding of HV equipment for circuit breakers, disconnect switches, power transformers and all related components;
  • Be on call and coordinate response to unplanned outages;
  • Perform IR thermography, DGA oil sampling, electrical equipment maintenance and support/train Innergex staff;
  • Manage contractors for performance of certain BOP maintenance and repairs;
  • Plan and perform equipment inspections, routine maintenance and repairs to ensure compliance with applicable NERC and industry standards;
  • Manage and maintain HV spares inventory at US projects;
  • Support and coordinate commissioning, start-up, and initial operating activities;
  • Assist with NERC compliance reports and liaise with the Reliability Compliance Team as required;
  • Develop, implement and improve HV safe work practices;
  • Assess the competency of Innergex personnel to perform switching of HV equipment;
  • Provide support and feedback regarding electrical design, engineering, testing, and construction at new wind farms as requested;
  • Various tasks to support Operations as needed.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar role with hands-on experience;
  • Knowledge of medium and high-voltage substation electrical equipment, relay protection systems, collection systems and transmission design and operations;
  • Experienced with relay and protection fundamentals;
  • Writing and executing LOTO procedures;
  • Writing operating procedures;
  • Various testing equipment (Dielectric/HIPOT, VLF/Thumper, TTR, thermography, Doble);
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel;
  • Able to apply pertinent industry standards and codes including Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE), National Electric Code (NEC), and ANSI (American National Standards Institute);
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Additional considerations!

  • The position could be based at the company’s San Diego (CA) office or remote within the USA;
  • You must be available to travel 40% of the time within the USA;
  • This position is a P2 level.

Pay Transparency Statement

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, and level of experience. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. 

In the spirit of pay transparency we are excited to share the base salary for the position is $75 000 - $82 000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired by Innergex, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
