Job Title: Sheeter Machine Operator

Location: Clarksville, TN

Shift: 1st Shift

Jostens, the leading manufacturer of Yearbooks & Commercial Printing products is looking for an experienced Paper Sheeter Machine Operator to join our Team in Clarksville, TN!

Our Sheeter Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation and basic maintenance of the Paper Sheeter Press within department quality and productivity standards. 

You will be:

Responsible for the operation of the Paper Sheeter and consistent quality of finished products. Responsible for setting machine to correct specifications per job, following each job’s instructions, assuring work is staged and operations are performed properly, and checking for obvious defects.

Responsible for the operating condition of the Sheeter on a daily basis. Also must maintain accurate records for measurements.

Responsible for the documented routine machine maintenance. Responsible for housekeeping and cleaning of the sheeting area. (Following daily procedures and involving Maintenance and Supervisor when needed regarding condition of machine.)

Responsible for preparing and/or overseeing skids for movement to next destination, training helpers and other designated employees as needed.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Working knowledge of all equipment, machinery, procedures, processes and paperwork within a Sheeter department.
• 5 years of Paper Sheeting Operator experience required.
• 5 years of experience working in a printing and/or paper converting environment is required.
• Good knowledge of the different weights and types of paper used to manufacture books.
• Experience performing required maintenance on Paper Sheeter Press.
• Mental/Visual Demands – Continuous mental and visual attention, requiring constant alertness, activity and attention to detail. 
• Must be able to lead, train and develop team with good communication and leadership skills.
• Must be able to work standing for 8 hrs & lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proven mechanical ability and experience troubleshooting equipment is required.
• Must be team minded and positive in all interactions with employees at every level.
• Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Need to be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be a self-starter with demonstrated decision making ability.
• Must possess good attendance and performance record in current position.
• Must have ability to accurately read a tape measure within 1/32 of an inch.
• Must be organized and able to maintain all records regarding machine production.
• Must have mechanical ability and provide maintenance support for department machines.
