Position Information
The Dallas District Project Delivery Office (PDO) and Plan Review Team and Local Let Team is looking for Transportation Specialist to work on the District's numerous project portfolio or mobility and local let jobs. This position will have the opportunity to review plan sets during milestone submittals and prior to letting ensuring the plan sets are complete and accurate during construction. Projects will include review of our robust District profile of major mobility projects. Additionally, in our local let team this position will allow for coordinating with local officials for local let projects. This position will allow for great experience in major project development processes through coordination with multiple offices including design, Area Office personnel and local stakeholders.

Provides planning, oversight, and high-level technical expertise and coordination for transportation programs involving multiple design and/or advanced building construction projects, construction of transportation systems, traffic operations, maintenance of highways and facilities, or bridge inspection and appraisal in accordance with Department standards. Develops and/or interprets guidelines, regulations, laws, policies and procedures for area of responsibility. Work requires contact with governmental officials, consultants, contractors and private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
Essential Duties for a Transportation Specialist III, IV, and V:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Transportation Specialist III, IV, or V - Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
Transportation Specialist III, IV, V - 5 years transportation design, construction, traffic operations, maintenance, bridge inspection experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent).
