Your Role:
As a Security Officer, you will play an essential role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone in the hospital – from patients to staff to visitors. Your actions will have a direct impact on the safety of our community, ensuring that M Health Fairview continues to provide the high-quality care we’re known for.
What you’ll be doing:
- Safeguard the community by patrolling designated areas and responding quickly to incidents, ensuring the security of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Prevent theft and vandalism through proactive surveillance and reporting.
- Use your de-escalation skills and conflict resolution techniques to handle difficult situations with professionalism and calm.
- Respond to high-risk situations, all while staying focused on keeping the environment safe and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Document daily activities accurately and professionally to keep everyone in the loop and ensure proper follow-up.

Schedule:
- 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
- Evening shift (3 PM - 1130PM)
- Every other weekend (Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday / Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday)
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Experience: 2 years of security, customer service, or military experience OR an Associate’s degree and 1 year of security/customer service experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- License/Certification: Valid Class D Driver’s License and a clean DMV record.
Preferred:
- Previous hospital security experience.
- Certifications like Certified Peace Officer (POST) or Emergency Med Tech Basic (EMT-B).
