Job Summary 

The Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in Innovation and Entrepreneurship as a lecturer should an opening arise. The pool will remain in place for one year. The use of a lecturer pool does not guarantee that an open position exists.

Courses in Innovation and Entrepreneurship include: entrepreneurial marketing, corporate entrepreneurship (intrapreneurship), entrepreneurial finance, market entry strategies, business model innovation, design thinking and customer validation.

Lecturers teach one or more undergraduate and/or graduate sections in a given term. Appointments carry no guarantee or expectation of renewal or tenure.

Minimum Education and ExperienceAn earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

Preferred Education and ExperienceA terminal degree in the academic discipline/topic and higher education teaching experience by start date are preferred. Seven or more years of professional practice in startup strategies and marketing, design thinking and customer validation, business valuation, business pitch/plan development, attracting stakeholders, financing the venture, managing the growing business and exit strategies, and/or relevant expertise in corporate innovation, strategy and competition in high technology business, new technology development, managing emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence and machine learning), or not-for-profit organizations concerned with social impacts of science, technology and innovation, by start date.

Located in the DFW area (this is not a remote position) and be flexible in the course schedule (weekdays) as required.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare and teach undergraduate classes and/or labs;

Maintain contact with student population in the classroom and via electronic learning platforms (eLearning);

Contribute assessment information and data as requested through the administration and the Assessment Team;

Participate in course evaluation surveys.
