Position Summary
The EHSS Sr Supervisor is responsible for developing, executing, and managing comprehensive safety and security strategies, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities
Major responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Oversee all physical security measures for assigned facilities, including CCTV, alarm systems, card access, key control, and weapons scanning technology, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality guidelines.
- Collaborate on and monitor the standardization of site-specific security systems, including access control, identification, weapons scanning, and CCTV systems.
- Collaborate with HR and EHSS Director on highly sensitive investigations and confidential internal matters.
- Supervise the EHSS Team across multiple shifts and locations managing conflict and resolve issues promptly and effectively, while maintaining a positive team dynamic.
- Provide leadership and inspiration to the EHSS Team, driving them to achieve high performance and meet organizational objectives. Consistently coach and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilities
- Document and address employee disciplinary issues when necessary.
- Collaborate with EHSS Director, Site Leaders, and EHSS Team to facilitate comprehensive safety and security at the facilities.
- Collaborate with the EHSS Director to develop, review, and revise site-specific safety and security procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as corporate policies.
- Assist in the investigation of health, safety, and security concerns such as hazardous conditions, employee injuries, near misses, property damage, and other issues, and advise Department Leaders on corrective actions.
- Oversee the administration of the drug/alcohol testing program in accordance with company policy and government regulations including reasonable suspicion, post-accident, safety-sensitive, and DOT random testing.
- Partner with sites leadership and Human Resources to promote cross-functional cooperation.
- Investigate significant incidents and injuries, and prepare written reports with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop and conduct training to ensure all team members are knowledgeable about safety and security procedures.
- Lead and attend department and facilities meetings.
- Advise the Director and site leadership on health, safety, and security issues, recommending improvements.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
- Effectively plan and manage the department’s staffing, financials, and Capex budget.
- Develop, maintain, and present departmental KPIs aimed at reducing safety and security incidents.
Communication:

- Maintain clear and effective communication within the team and other Departments.
- Address and resolve issues of concerns raised by associates or other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Director, EHSS Team, and other departments to foster cross-departmental cooperation and ensure clear communication and accountability.
- Work with others to implement strategic initiatives.
- EHSS Subject Matter Expert:
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts to ensure various health, safety, and security (EHSS) programs are best in class. Specific examples include but not limited to lockout/tagout/tryout, contractor safety, safe work permits, powered industrial trucks, loss prevention, security technologies to maintain a secure environment, process safety and security management, emergency action plan, crisis management, and/or emergency response.
- Lead and train teams in documenting and resolving incidents, injuries, and near-miss reports, ensuring all action items are addressed, including necessary training or retraining. Investigate health, security, loss prevention, and safety concerns, and advise department leaders on corrective actions.
- Participate in and lead site safety and security reviews, including incident investigations with root cause analysis for supervisors and safety teams. Review outcomes from safety reviews to ensure completion of action items, including associate training where warranted.
- Ensures that incident reports and findings are accurate and properly documented in the EHSS Management System.
- Coordinates and manages the Company’s EHSS Management system in accordance with established corporate, Federal, state, and local requirements.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the Federal and State OSHA, NIOSH, environmental regulations, and security technologies.
- Advise and assist employees on health, safety, and security requirements; develop and update site safety policies and procedures; and perform safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Arranges and administers safety committee member training and serves as a resource for the Safety Culture Teams.
- Deliver and coordinate training for new and current employees on safety and security programs. Continuously improve training content to meet evolving standards.
- Conducts First Aid/CPR/AED and “Safety in Motion” ergonomic training and performs ergonomic assessments.
- Knowledgeable about Safety Quality Food (SQF) guidelines.
- Represents the EHSS department in the absence of the EHSS Director.
- Other duties, assignments and projects assigned at the discretion of the EHSS Director.
