We are currently seeking a motivated Electronics Maintenance Technician I to join our talented team. In this role, you will install, repair, and maintain electronic equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure systems operate efficiently and safely. You will require skills in electronics, problem-solving, and communication.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
  • Replace components, wiring circuits, and repair simple electronic equipment.
  • Take test readings using digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Install, assemble, and maintain electronic components and systems, following blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic equipment and systems, identifying and resolving malfunctions.
  • Test and calibrate electronic equipment and systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and testing procedures.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when working with electronic equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding technical issues and solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electronics technology and techniques.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout.
  • Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
  • Formal electronics training, to include Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits, and systems with preferable Navigation Systems experience.
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Skilled in repairing and replacing electronic components and systems preferably with Navigation Systems.
  • Knowledge of testing procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to calibrate electronic equipment and systems. 
  • Ability to identify and solve problems independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with management and production line staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
