ABOUT THE ROLE: The Restaurant Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests promptly and courteously, ensuring all transactions are accurately processed, and maintaining cleanliness in guest areas. Assists in various service tasks, handles customer concerns, and acts as a role model to other employees while adhering to company policies and procedures.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Conducts assigned duties according to procedures. 
  • Greets guests quickly and courteously. 
  • Seat Guest promptly and with a smile.
  • Able to sell guest on all seating areas of the restaurant (i.e. bar and patio).
  • Be aware of table status and control seating times.
  • Helps service guests as necessary in a team aspect (May include but not limited to: bussing tables, taking drink orders, rolling silverware, etc.)
  • Knows how to ring up all transactions and all tenders. 
  • Assists the Service Attendants/Counter Attendants/Culinary areas when needed. 
  • Handles and solves any concerns and questions from customers. 
  • Keeps all guest areas clean and neat. 
  • Enters guests’ merchandise in register, takes money from customer and accurately gives back change. 
  • Responsible for accurate control of cash drawer. 
  • Operates cash register and properly settles merchandise purchase
  • Itemizes totals and presents guests with the price for payment 
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

A FEW MORE THINGS:

  • High volume dining experience preferred. 
  • OpenTable or reservation system knowledge recommended
  • Understands variance policy of cash drawer and maintains low variance 
  • 1-year experience in customer service. 
  • Must possess basic math skills. 
  • Must be able to count cash drawer accurately
  • Must possess excellent customer service/communication skills. 
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. 
  • Must be able to maintain a neat, professional, well-groomed appearance and uphold company appearance/dress standards.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of assigned restaurant throughout entire shift. 
  • Must be able to accurately and quickly process all cash transactions. 
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke. 
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
