The Platform Engineering team is responsible for managing and optimizing the company's cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud architecture and strategy.
• Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor and optimize cloud performance and costs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent education and/or work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, software development, or information systems, including support of mission-critical applications.
• AWS certification preferred.
• 5+ years of enterprise public cloud experience (AWS preferred) in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in Linux administration and cloud networking.
• Expertise in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby, Powershell, or Groovy).
• Experience with cloud automation (CDK or Terraform).
• Skilled in configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Salt, or Chef).
• Familiar with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Nexus).
• Knowledge of log aggregation and monitoring tools (ELK, CloudWatch, Sensu, Prometheus, APM solutions).
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development, AWS serverless technologies, container orchestration, big data, messaging, and distributed application development.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle principles in an agile environment.
• Expert in software development best practices.
• Proficient in core AWS services/technologies.
• Ability to establish and implement the technical direction of the Cloud Platform.
• Excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• High level of customer orientation, attention to detail, and excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Effective team player, both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to facilitate collaboration and open communication across functional boundaries.
• Adaptable to new technologies and able to grasp new information quickly.
• Capable of handling increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Director of Cloud Platform. You will be part of a 20+ person team building solutions in the cloud and you will collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.

Your Work Location

As our Principal Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center.
