About the Role

As a Production Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing the production processes within the Mill, Shipping, Slitter, and Quality Departments. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise to ensure operational efficiency, maintain safety standards, and drive continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, troubleshoot issues, and support a positive team-oriented work environment. This is an onsite role located in Plymouth, MI.

What You’ll Do

• Supervises and provides technical expertise to the Mill, Shipping, Slitter, and Quality Departments to ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensures all employees are trained on their respective jobs, including safety procedures, workstation controls, and equipment usage.
• Reviews daily operating reports for compliance and communicates operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to prevent delays.
• Prepares reports and other relevant information for senior management to support decision-making.
• Enforces workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube Inc. and MIOSHA, ensuring a safe work environment.
• Troubleshoots operational and tooling problems to improve production quality and efficiency.
• Builds and maintains a positive team-oriented environment across Mill, Shipping, Slitter, and Quality personnel.
• Evaluates employee performance based on job requirements and behavioral indicators of performance.
• Disciplines personnel in coordination with plant management and Human Resources as necessary.
• Ensures immediate medical treatment for injured employees and reports incidents into Incident Management Software.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are

• Post-Secondary Education, Technical Diploma, or equivalent experience in tube mill manufacturing or shipping.
• Proficient in computer skills for reporting and operational tracking.
• Strong communication skills to effectively lead teams and coordinate across departments.
• Ability to lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
• Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
