Position Overview
The Divisional Head of IT (IT Business Partner) serves as the strategic interface between the IT function and the Europe Dealer division within Hunter Douglas. The role ensures that IT aligns with the business objectives of the division, driving digital enablement, IT performance, and operational resilience. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Divisional CEO and CFO, the individual will shape IT demand, influence IT strategy, and oversee IT-driven change management and communication.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring IT delivers value to the business while effectively managing risk, performance, and transformation initiatives within the companies that make up the Europe Dealer division. The role will foster ever closer collaboration between the divisional and the functional leaders (ITSM, Infra & Ops, App, Cyber, Data & Analytics) and drive IT excellence for the operating companies.
What you'll do:
The Divisional Head of IT will have a broad set of responsibilities split over several key areas:
Strategic IT Business Partnership
- Act as the primary interface between divisional leadership and the Group IT functional leaders, ensuring IT aligns with business priorities.
- Provide strategic IT advice to the Divisional CEO and CFO, helping to shape technology investment and digital transformation roadmaps.
- Work with business leaders to identify and prioritize IT-enabled business initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate and divisional objectives. Advocate for divisional needs within Group IT while ensuring adherence to enterprise-wide IT policies, standards, and strategies.
Demand Management, IT Governance & Budget
- Capture, evaluate, and prioritize divisional IT requirements, ensuring that demand is appropriately funneled and prioritized into the IT function.
- Champion IT investment proposals for the division, ensuring business cases are robust, benefits are clear, and risks are mitigated.
- Monitor IT performance within the division, providing insight into system reliability, service quality, and operational effectiveness.
- Drive compliance with IT governance frameworks, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Own the ZBB Technology package for the division and find ways to optimize spend.
Change Management & Communication
- Serve as the key conduit for IT-driven change initiatives, ensuring that the division is well-informed and engaged in transformation programs.
- Communicate IT performance, cybersecurity updates, and major IT initiatives to divisional stakeholders in a clear and business-friendly manner.
- Manage the rollout of IT-related changes, ensuring business adoption and minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensure business leaders are fully informed of technology risks, particularly in cybersecurity, and advocate for best practices in digital security.
Technology Enablement & Innovation
- Be the AI champion for IT within the division.
- Identify opportunities where technology can improve operational efficiency, customer experience, or competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with IT architects and solution teams to introduce innovative digital capabilities within the division.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing of IT best practices and emerging technologies that can benefit the business.
- Ensure divisional companies are leveraging enterprise IT solutions effectively, maximizing the return on IT investments.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Develop strong relationships with divisional executives, functional heads, and operational teams to ensure IT is seen as a value-adding function.
- Act as the key liaison between divisional business units and IT, ensuring smooth collaboration and alignment.
- Influence senior leaders on IT priorities, ensuring a balance between business needs and enterprise-wide standardization.
- Represent divisional IT interests at enterprise-level IT governance and strategy forums.
Who you are:
The Divisional Head of IT will have:
- Strong understanding of business processes and how IT can drive efficiency and transformation.
- Full stack technology experience, covering Infra, Apps, Cyber and Digital. Ability to pick up key new concepts or technologies quickly.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging all layers of the organization.
- Experience in driving IT change management and leading technology-enabled business transformations.
- Data driven mindset and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand key financial and budget aspects (metrics, capitalization)
