YOUR IMPACT :
The Senior Systems Administrator is primary source for Tier II Infrastructure support of all commercial environments – for any day to day operations issues, and for the upcoming projects/setups. On any given work day he/she may be responsible for all, or any subset of Systems, Hardware and Platforms, ensuring proper prioritization of activities and coordination/communication of these activities with management, next tier support organizations, including Engineering and their respective peers. He/she will provide continuous support, escalating any proactive events to prevent client impacting.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS :
Participate in Change management meetings, Readiness Reviews, Engineering/Comm Ops meetings, etc. as required to fulfill team responsibilities.
Fulfillment of team responsibilities may require, from time to time, working outside of normally scheduled shift time in order to complete projects, maintenance and/or meet business commitments.
Working cross functionally with the NOC (Tier I), Engineering and Deployment teams is critically important for the success of the larger organization.
Fully support the Change Management, Release Management, Problem Management and Ops PMO activities/projects.
Respond to Incident calls, joining conference bridges and MOC’s.
Proactively drive and troubleshooting issues.
Assist Tier 1, troubleshoot and perform supportive actions as requested by subject matter experts/ Engineering.
Position needs to participate on scheduled Systems Maintenance activities furing off hours/weekends, and Oncall rotation.
Operating Systems: Advanced administrations skills on Redhat Linux, Windows, and Systems Performance tuning
Experience Working on: VMware, Netbackup, Citrix, F5 load balancers, DNS
Knowledge of Incident, Change & Problem Management/ticketing systems
Desirable additional experience working on Storage Systems, San Switches, ESX Clusters
Knowledge on Scripting, systems performance, Networking, TCP/IP, and firewall Setups.
Good analyzing & communication skills, self-motivated and passionate
Systems Admin experience on Private Cloud infra setup and GPC & AWS infrastructure setups.
Good Ansible Automation experience to develop Ansible playbooks and modules for Linux administration tasks.
Knowledge and experience in DevOps in Infrastructure are an added advantage.
Ability to troubleshoot issues in high pressure situations, resolving problems in a timely manner and keeping stake holders involved/updated
Education: Engineering or equivalent degree in CS/ECE
Experience: 4-6 years of experience in Systems Administration and supporting Commercial environments.
