Job Summary

Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of complex network infrastructure and services. Plays a critical role in enhancing network performance, security and reliability while ensuring the network infrastructure aligns with with business goals.

This role is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating our external telecom carrier partners to deliver voice and data telecommunication services within a large-scale enterprise network. This includes the delivery of circuits to remote locations (Z-end) that are typically stores in free-standing buildings, as well as locations in strip malls and office buildings utilizing external riser management vendors. In addition to coordinating activities with our carrier partners, the job duties include, where necessary, any customer responsibilities such as ensuring inside wiring/cabling extensions from the MPOE/demarc to the area where our CPE is installed.

This role would suit a candidate who has significant circuit installation project management experience, excellent analytical and project management capabilities and has prior experience with provisioning of voice & data circuits using a variety of technologies such as legacy POTS, wireless FWA, Cradlepoint, SIP Trunking, MPLS, and Internet (using either DIA or wired/wireless broadband service providers). The ideal candidate will have circuit installation experience at cloud service and data center colocation providers (Equinix, AWS, MS Azure, etc.) as a plus.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of complex network infrastructure and services. Plays a critical role in enhancing network performance, security and reliability while ensuring the network infrastructure aligns with business goals
  • Leads the guidance and support for Network engineering team.
  • Evaluates and recommends new networking technologies and tools to optimize performance
  • Monitors network performance and troubleshoots complex issues to ensure optimal functionality
  • Develops and maintains network documentation, diagrams and standards.
  • Partners with Information Security to ensure network security protocols are implemented and followed
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to integrate and support different systems on the network.
  • Mentors less experienced Team Members.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in Network engineering or a similar role OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience in network engineering or a similar role
  • At least 3 years of experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience with LAN/WAN Architecture, and performance tuning
  • At least 3 years of experience working with network and/or telecom protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN and firewalls
  • Knowledge of network security
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes

Preferred Qualifications

We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

  • Excellent MS Excel/Word, Solid Visio as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of voice & data circuit installation experience.
  • Experience utilizing the Calero VeraSMART TEM (Telecom Expense Management) application
  • Prior experience and familiarity with RoE’s, EUCR’s, and voice/data circuit ordering and installation
  • High level knowledge of the different types of broadband, DIA, and wireless (4G LTE, 5G mmWave and C-Band) network transports.
  • High level knowledge of Telecom architecture and the ability to use MS Visio to represent it
  • Optional: Fundamental knowledge of dark fiber concepts and SD-WAN are a plus.

Salary Range $102800 - $164400 / Salaried
