Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Punch Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of industry-related operations and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves operating and setting up punch presses, handling materials, performing inspections, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set Up and operate punch presses, slide- and servo-feed, coil straighteners, and related equipment.
- Set up dies and tooling to ensure quality production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and job control plans.
- Utilize various measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
- Understand and implement safety procedures related to punch press operations.
- Load materials, remove scrap, and perform lifting/handling duties as required.
- Maintain accurate records, including forms, tags, and time sheets.
- Perform inspections at required intervals and document findings.
- Operate lift trucks and handle large containers safely.
- Utilize proper coil handling procedures and safety equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience with punch press operations and related equipment.
- Familiarity with progressive dies, tooling, and coil handling.
- Basic math skills and ability to read technical documents.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to withstand prolonged standing, frequent bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Experience operating tow motors and lift trucks is a plus.
