To perform computerized tomography exams on patients under the supervision of a radiologist in accordance with UMMC policies and procedures. To maintain accurate patient records and prepare equipment for physician's use.
Graduate of a Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine Program accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or meet the requirements for certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Mississippi Radiologic Technologist, BLS, ARRT in Computerized Tomography
Knowledge of computerized tomography exams procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to explain exam procedures and alleviate patient anxiety.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, frequent lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, constant pushing/pulling, constant reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
