The Senior Network Engineer, operating under the general supervision of the Director, Network Services, plays a pivotal role in designing, promoting, and supporting advanced network technologies. The Senior Network Engineer is a proactive individual who can leverage their experience and judgment to plan and achieve strategic goals. And is responsible for enhancing the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical data networks, ensuring an optimal end-user experience. In addition to network infrastructure design and implementation, this role involves troubleshooting network issues, conducting root cause analyses, and managing effective communication channels with various teams within a shared services organizational framework. information, and works collaboratively with all teams within a shared services organization framework.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoots technical aspects of the enterprise voice and data network infrastructure.
Develops and applies best practices and procedures for solution delivery and support in addition to producing and maintaining detailed infrastructure documentation.
Maintains and updates all voice and data hardware and software platforms through lifecycle projects, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
Possesses working knowledge of Cisco data network hardware environments and current voice infrastructure.
Takes initiative during alerts or failures, troubleshooting and isolating issues with team collaboration.
Collaborates with team members, support, and development groups, transferring knowledge effectively.
Working with an assigned member of the Project Management Office, authors a project plan, develops a schedule, and creates documentation and messaging.
Makes sound decisions based on the information available. Remains objective to the ideas or recommendations of peers and open to taking a different approach. Takes ownership and assumes responsibility for decisions made in relation to work assignments.
Works closely with other support, development, QA, and business teams to provide complete solutions that meet the needs of all parties.
Updates management with project information in a timely manner.
Explores new products, technologies, and methods to enhance the infrastructure.
Maintains documentation supporting work processes and applies security policies to infrastructure design.
Determines baseline performance of existing systems, monitoring, and resolving performance issues.
Identifies vulnerabilities within the infrastructure, offering recommendations for improvement.
