Duties and Responsibilities
The School of Education (SOE) at Loyola University Chicago invites applications for part-time instructors to teach in the SOE’s Teaching and Learning (T&L) program area during the 2022-2023 academic year and beyond. The T&L program runs Loyola’s CAEP-accredited teacher education program, TLLSC (Teaching, Learning and Leading with Schools and Communities).
Candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to urban education and dedication to serving a historically minoritized student population consistent with Loyola’s commitment to advancing social justice through transformative education.
Credentials, background, and teaching experiences in the following areas are typical areas of need within our program:
Elementary education (grades 1-6) with experience literacy and/or social studies
Preschool (ages 3-5) and early elementary (K-2) teaching
Middle grades (5-8) and secondary (9-12) education, including content area instruction in areas such as mathematics
Culturally responsive and anti-racist pedagogy, along with a social justice lens on educational psychology, child development, and educational policy.
Serving culturally and linguistically diverse populations
Special education (PK-21)
Supervision of internship experiences (we are also seeking experienced educators who can support our students during their final one-year internship
