Classroom and Event Support Specialist
Essential Duties
1. Provide high-level media services support to faculty, staff and students in all classroom and event spaces. 2. Assist with events and conferences as front of house support, including assisting with presentation materials, mike setups, etc. 3. Assist faculty, staff and students with translation equipment for classes, events and conferences that require translation. 4. Keep detailed log of classroom event activities as directed. 5. Responsible for daily inspections of classroom and event spaces to ensure all systems are operating properly, equipment is in proper place, and any items missing are replaced. 6. Identify and troubleshoot complex media systems for classrooms and all event spaces. 7. Train and assist faculty, students, and staff with classroom technology and portable equipment use. 8. Assist with in-class presentation issues. 9. Setup, operate, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment such as portable PA, mikes, and cameras. 10. Assist with general maintenance of various AV systems in the school such as changing projector lamps. 11. Provide assistance in the Media Control Center and Studio as directed. 12. On call duties as assigned 13. Perform others duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Six years of related work experience, four of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and high school level education; or four years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position Focus:
The Classroom and Event Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all classroom equipment is in place and the rooms are ready for their planned use. Provide an extremely high level of support to faculty in the classroom and provide front of house support for events. This position reports to the Director of Media Services Delivery.
Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8am- 4:30pm. Ability to work variable schedule based on operation needs is required, including evenings, weekends and occasionally with short notice. Morning shifts can start at 4:00am; later shifts can run until midnight. Willingness to wear Media Services shirt (tucked in) or vest as directed by manager. Ability to move equipment up to 50 lb.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Demonstrated experience as camera operator and working with various video conferencing technologies.

Required Skill/Ability 1:
Proven experience working with and maintaining projectors and other AV equipment, experience with Crestron equipment, and with lavaliere microphones. Baseline understanding of computing infrastructure and network topology.
Required Skill/Ability 2:
Proficient with Mac and PC. Proven experience working with PowerPoint. Well-developed oral, written communication and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail.
Required Skill/Ability 3:
Ability to be a team player that works well with other members of the staff.
Required Skill/Ability 4:
Ability to work under pressure and manage projects and priorities in a highly complex, dynamic environment with high level communication and customer service skills.
