Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support the Electrical & Computer Engineering on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2025. 

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

  • Attend all sessions of assigned lab during the semester
  • Assist with lab set-up
  • Monitor student use of equipment
  • Help students troubleshoot equipment and/or software issues
  • Answer technical questions related to software and equipment during the lab session
  • Provides technical support to students and assists faculty during lab sessions for one or more of the following Electrical and Computer Engineering courses: 
  • ENGR 1731 Computing for Engineers 
  • ENGR 1732 Program Design for Engineers 
  • ENGR 2131 Electronics and Circuit Analysis 
  • ENGR 2323 Digital Design Lab 
  • ENGR 2341 Introduction to Signal Processing with Lab 
  • EENG 3241 Electric Machines w/Lab 
  • EENG 3340 Microcontrollers with Lab 
  • EENG 3341 Microelectronics with Lab 
  • EENG 3345 Circuit Analysis II with Lab 
  • EENG 5242 Power Systems Protection with Lab 
  • EENG 5342 Computer Systems Design with Lab 
  • EENG 5431 Control Systems with Lab 
  • EENG 5540 Communication Systems with Lab 
  • EENG 5543 Antennas and Wireless Propagation with Lab 

Shift Specifics

  • Up to 10 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shift times and number of hours assigned VARIES depending on Student Availability and the number of ENGR/EENG courses the student is eligible to assist

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education 

  • Completion of one or more ENGR/EENG course

Preferred Experience

  • Tutoring Experience and/or Experiential Learning involving Hand-on Applications using Programming Software or Equipment used in the ENGR/EENG lab-based courses.

Proposed Salary

$15.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
