Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $27.00 to $28.00/year. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full hourly range for this position is $25.77 to $43.58/year.

Department Marketing Statement:
The UCSB Education Abroad Program and UCSB Capital Internship Program (UC Washington Center / UC Sacramento) provide advising and outreach services to a large student population each year. The department sends more than 1,000 students overseas, receives approximately 300 international reciprocal exchange students, and supports reentry and cultural adjustment of returned students. UCSB EAP advises for 40+ countries offered by the University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP). In addition, the department provides advising, outreach and support for students interested in participating in the University of California Washington (UCDC) and the University of California Center in Sacramento (UCCS).

Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director and working in coordination with the EAP Director and team of regional advisors, the EAP Academic Integration Specialist and UC Washington Center/UC Sacramento Center Advisor works on course articulation efforts and encourages academic departments to integrate Education Abroad Program (EAP) study abroad coursework and the Capital Internship Program coursework into their major coursework. Advises students on studying abroad. Uses the UCEAP Course Catalog and UCEAP website to provide academic advisors with data that includes relevant study abroad program options, participation rates, course preapprovals (if any) and resources. Encourages academic departments to create course equivalencies and streamline approval processes. Encourages academic departments to promote study abroad and CIP, outreach to their student population and pursue outreach strategies. In consultation with the Associate Director, implements, coordinates and publicizes discipline-specific EAP scholarships with relevant departments. The Capital Programs Advisor promotes the UC Washington Center (UCDC) and / UC Sacramento (UCCS) programs to campus department and students. UCDC/UCCS programs provide UCSB students with an opportunity to live, work as interns, and study in our nation's political and cultural epicenter, Washington, D.C. and in the California capital city of Sacramento. Internships are available in a wide range of areas such as public policy, non-profit organizations, Congress and other government agencies, and scientific organizations. The advisor provides all student services aspects for this program including outreach, marketing (in collaboration with the Marketing Specialist), advising, application, pre-departure and re-entry stages. Serves as the UCSB liaison to the staff at UCDC/UCCS. Works closely with academic departments to integrate the UCDC/UCCS experience into the major. Works under the general supervision of the Associate Director. Provides administrative support to EAP/CIP Campus Director and Associate Director as needed, including backup support for performing front desk and EAP Regional Advisor duties. Other duties as assigned.
