Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist/Engineer (EIR Scientist 3) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading research projects, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and presenting findings. This role requires a strong background in scientific research, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Masters's degree in science or engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience performing environmental due diligence including writing Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Reports and performing site reconnaissance.
  • Must possess a valid U. S. drivers license.

Technical Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of ASTM 1527-21 standard and EPA All Appropriate Inquiry rule.
  • Must qualify as an Environmental Professional, as defined by EPA All Appropriate Inquiry rule.
  • Familiarity with environmental laws including CERCLA, RCRA, EPCRA, CAA, as well as State and Local Rules, Regulations, Guidance, and SOPs, as warranted.
  • Familiarity with industry standard environmental site characterization and remediation procedures, risk-based standards, and applicable and relevant cleanup standards.
  • Familiarity with natural resource permitting and NEPA a plus.
  • Familiarity with EQuIS environmental data management systems a plus.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Ability to perform site reconnaissance including walking over uneven terrain.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare environmental due diligence reports.
  • Perform site reconnaissance/inspections.
  • Perform senior/peer review of transaction screen assessment and Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Reports to verify conformance with ASTM 1527-21 and other standards, and EPA All Appropriate Inquiry rule.
  • Conduct soil and groundwater investigations, manage and analyze environmental data, and prepare environmental assessment/remediation reports.
  • Provide regulatory compliance support.
